Putting on the Armor of God
PostedWhat better way to prepare for Lent than taking time out for prayer and the faith formation? Over 50 boys, 15 young men, and 10 dads joined a few of our own Chicago Legionaries of Christ this past weekend for a ski retreat in Edgerton, Wisconsin for a retreat called “Putting on the Armor of God.” The young men and boys participated in two separate tracks. The young men’s track included talks on John Paul II’s Theology of the body, capture the flag, basketball, and other sports. The boys’ track included talks on virtues and the sacraments, dodgeball, civil war, swimming, and more sports. Many of the dads that came had sons in one or both of the tracks and were also able to participate in the various activities throughout the weekend.
On Monday, President’s Day, they all went to Devil’s Head resort for skiing and snowboarding. The next big event for young men and boys will be the Holy Week Missions that will take place from April 4th to April 8th in Chicago.
